FAQ
Common questions
Does merging reduce quality?
No. Unlike the Compressor, the Merger copies PDF pages as-is using pdf-lib's page copy mechanism. Zero re-encoding, no quality loss, no DPI change. Output is byte-identical in content to the originals.
How many PDFs can I merge?
No hard limit — merge as many as your device memory allows. Most modern devices handle 20–30 average-sized PDFs without issue.
Are my files safe?
100% safe. Everything runs inside your browser using pdf-lib. No data is ever sent to a server. When you close the tab, all file data is gone.
Can I merge password-protected PDFs?
PDFs with owner passwords (restrictions only) work fine. PDFs requiring a password to open cannot be processed — you'll need to unlock them first.
Will bookmarks and links be preserved?
Internal links within each PDF are preserved. A combined table of contents across documents is not automatically generated — pages are copied in sequence.
